Great Tater Ideas

$1,000,000 Living Billboard
Speaking of tatoo ideas, a college kid is selling 1,000,000 tatoo pixels-to-be on his back for $1/each. The pixels are approximately 1/10" each. An advertiser willing to spend the money to create words, slogans or a logo can purchase a permanent, living billboard for their product or service. Check out this tatoo idea at: inkmyback.com.

New Ink A Great Tatoo Idea For Later Removal
Among a group of 18- to 50-year-olds surveyed in 2004, 24% reported having a tatoo and 17% of those considered getting their tatoo removed according to the The American Academy of Dermatology. A new ink soon to be introduced will make tatoo removal easier in the future. Freedom-2, the brand name of the new product, is a microencapsulated dye that can be removed in one laser sitting. Great news for those with an old girl friend's name permanently emblazoned on one's person and in full view of prospective new squeezes.

Goofy Mustache Tatoos
Have you ever held something under your nose to represent a mustache? Well, the latest in novel tatoo ideas is a mustache tatoo on the inside of your index finger. Your finger can be held below your nose and your mustache tatoo looks like a little mustache. Little handlebars and Adolph Hitler-type versions are popular. What will they think of next?

New Tatoo Care
Caring for your new body art depends on the type and size of the tatoo. You will need to pay particular attention to cleaning the tatoo. Soap and water are generally recommended as is the application of a good moisturizer. It is also advisable to avoid sun exposure for several weeks while the "wound" is healing. Some tatoos may take a number of days to completely heal. Be careful not to pick the scabs on your new skin art which would be an invitation for infection and can "smear" the design as well as possibly scaring the area. Ask your tatoo artist for detailed instructions for caring for your newly inked area.

Tatoo Ideas... A Beginner's Guide
Hey, we're talking permanent (until the new ink is introduced, above) so don't make an impulse decision and live to regret it. Beverly, your "little future wife," won't appreciate your declaration of undying love for "Ashley" boldly displayed on your bicep. So be advised: a sober decision (SOBER!) is advised. Make sure the image you select is something that you think you'll still like in 40 years.

Once you have made a decision to get inked there are several things to consider. First, do you want a stock image or a custom image. Obviously, a custom tatoo idea will be considerably more expensive because of the extra time involved in the creation of your image. Also a tatoo artist will probably be familiar with his stock designs and your time under the needle will be considerably less. Time is money so an "off the shelf" design will be cheaper too. Less time also equals less pain the first time around. Pain is certainly should be a consideration especially if you have a low tolerance (OUCH... OUCH... OUCH!).

Next, do you want color or black with shading? Color adds to the cost of the project as well as the time involved in actually completing your tatoo idea. Adding color will usually give your design more of a custom look even with an off the shelf tat image. Black and shaded tatoos can be really cool because of the contrast between the ink and your natural skin color.

The location of your tatoo idea should also be given careful consideration. What kind of clothes do you wear? Do you really want the tatoo to be visible at all times or is the image just for that special person's eyes only? How will a visible tatoo impact your professional aspirations? Consider all these things before you do something you'll regret. Tatoo removal can be very expensive to say nothing of painful.

Back to pain. A tatoo located on an area where the skin is the thinnest will be much more painful than one applied to a more meaty area. Areas that may hurt include ankles, head, cheek and lower back. If you are a sissy about pain a better choice would be your bicep, your calf or your butt.
